Read: Psalm 19:14 - “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.”

Reflect:

Let’s begin today by considering a question:

What if every person who calls Hope Church their church home had a genuine desire to bring glory and honor to God?

When honoring God is a daily priority for us, we become sensitive to and cautious of what we allow to infiltrate (or "enter") our homes, our minds, and our hearts. The Psalmist shares this prayer in chapter 19 with a deep desire to honor God in every way possible. As we begin these next several weeks of seeking God together as a church, may we take time today to evaluate our relational pursuit of Jesus even to the very meditations of our hearts. Throughout the day, ask God to give you a genuine desire to honor Him and a deeper passion to pursue Him.

In his book, The Indwelling Life of Christ, Major Ian Thomas says this:

“God does not honor men and women and their deeds or their books or their organizations. The Father in heaven delights to honor His Son. It is only the Life of the Lord Jesus - His activity, clothed with you and displayed through you, that ultimately will find the approval of God.”

Prayer for the Day:

God, may what I say and what I meditate on today bring glory and honor to You! I ask that today You will do a work in me so that You might do a work through me!
