Read1 John 1:1-4 - “What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life - and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us - what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete."

Reflect:

In this passage, we find the apostle John demonstrating that he, along with the other apostles, had spent time with Jesus. They had heard Jesus speak, they had seen Him with their own eyes, they had touched Him, and they had even examined Him closely. The reality of spending time with Jesus had radically changed their lives. The same is true today - when we spend time with Jesus, it radically changes us, both individually and corporately.

This month, we are pursuing the presence of God together as a body of believers. We are asking Him to bring revival and renewal in our lives. If we truly want to see God’s manifest His presence in our lives personally, and in us corporately as a church family, then we must spend time with Jesus.

If you have a desire to spend time alone with God but still have questions about what that looks like, take some time and watch this video as Pastor Vance explains the priority of God Time.

Prayer for the Day:

Heavenly Father, I pray for a genuine desire to spend unhurried time with You each day. I pray for a deeper love for Your Word. I pray that what takes place in my life and in the life of Hope Church would simply be the overflow of time spent alone with You!
